A fresh start

Last week I moved into my new house. It is always so exciting to move into a new space. A chance to refresh, edit and declutter. Moving to Newcastle has meant downsizing from a four-bedroom, two living space house to a two-bedroom townhouse. So, plenty of downsizing, thankful I love to declutter and workout what still serves me and brings me joy and inspiration.

Another goal for a new space is a chance to do things differently. This house was move in ready, new bathrooms and kitchens, I don’t need to paint or renovate anything. I just need to add some extra storage downstairs, like a pantry. Overtime this might change, and I will want to redo everything, but for now I’m happy. The only project I do see in my future is building a library for my books. I have the perfect space to build a big set of shelves and I am going to really enjoy getting that underway.

But along with the superficial things, are the deeper ones. Like setting up a space for my altar and a place to meditate, do yoga and some stretching. Lots of sunny places for winter and setting up my balcony full of comfort and greenery while also making a safe place for my pets.

I am very much looking forward to building a new life here and creating a home space that is safe, welcoming and inspiring.
